puron refrigerant

Puron is a chlorine-free refrigerant used in air conditioners and heat pumps. Puron was developed to address the issue of ozone depletion through harmful pollutants. In this case, Puron was created to replace the much more harmful R-22. For those that are not familiar, R-22 used to be the standard in refrigerants and is still used today in some air conditioners. The problem is that R-22 emits into the Earth's atmosphere and depletes the ozone layer that protects everything from harmful sun rays.

Currently, the United States has over 2.5 million homes that use Puron as a non-ozone depleting substitute to the standard R-22 machines. That means there are over 2.5 million homes that are using higher efficiency equipment that are special made for Puron refrigerant instead of R-22. This equipment gives so many increased benefits over the conventional R-22 equipment. You are able to increase your comfort, increase reliability, efficiency, decrease money spent and impact on environment, all while surrounding yourself with a safer product with increased longevity. The high maintenance R-22 designs are a thing of the past.

Is Puron Right For Me?

Many people consider upgrading or replacing their air conditioners. There are many factors to consider before buying Puron Refrigerant-based products. Many benefits include:
  • Energy Efficiency: Many Puron Refrigerant air conditioners offer higher efficiency, relative to their R-22 counterparts. This is because Puron Refrigerant has heat-transfer properties that are capable of our performing R-22 any way you look at it.
  • Future Savings: Right now R-22 can still be found in many stores, but this is not always going to be the case. U.S. government restrictions are becomming more and more restrictive by the day and refrigerants that are harmful to the environment, such as R-22, are high up on the list of prioritized targets. Ultimately, once regulations are put in place, R-22 refrigerant will become much more difficult, if not impossible, to find - meaning more expenses. By using a Puron product you will be avoiding the costs involved with servicing most of the older generation air conditioners and heat pumps.
  • Reliability: Current Puron Refrigerant-based air conditioners, such as those manufactured by Carrier, are considered some of the most reliable products available on the market.
